ANYWAY
I thought instead of my usual snarky rant, I'd follow up with the Five Among Friends. For some reason, I missed this last week. *shrugs*
Sadly, I will have to skip one question. Being as I'm barren and have no children.
1. What is your Favorite Holiday and why?
It's a toss up: Christmas or Halloween. They're both pretty big baking holidays. S will probably tell you Christmas is my favorite holiday. There was that one Christmas where we went out a few days before just to get a tree. I mean, it's not Christmas without a tree. Right? There was one Christmas that we didn't put up the tree. I asked if he wanted to put it up, and he said no. I should have just put it up. I was so depressed that Christmas.
And Halloween? I mean, who doesn't like to dress up and pretend to me someone or something else for a day! And the cookies, cupcakes, all the Halloween foods! What kitchen hoor wouldn't LOVE that. I think my favorite costume was when I was little and it was a genie outfit. I think I wore that for more than Halloween that year. I still remember it. I LOVED watching I Dream of Genie. She was too cool!
2. Do I Have a Favorite Cartoon or Cartoon Character?
Dumbo has and always will be my all time favorite animated character. Again, when I was little, my parents took me to see it in theaters. I fell in LOVE with the movie. Not to mention, I think I won a t-shirt while at the movie. But my memory is a bit hazy.
Anyway, it's always been my favorite movie because I've always been a little chunky. And I've always felt a little outcast. Just like Dumbo. I've always been made fun of. Like Dumbo. I've always managed to soar above it. Like Dumbo.
3. What Was the Reaction of my First Born On His First Day of School?
N/A My Missy hasn't been to school. LOL
4. What is My Preference, Swimming Pool or Beach?
Um...Lake? With a boat and some fishing poles! I'm NOT a sun baby AT ALL! I will burn in 2 seconds flat. It's not purdy. I can even burn in the shade on an overcast day. Yes. I AM that
Maybe this summer, we'll get to fish? *shrugs*
5. 5 Movies Worth Watching.
- DUMBO - DUH! It's my favorite movie of all time!
- Ladyhawk This is my second favorite movie of all time. It's a romantic action adventure with a really young Matthew Broderick, Michelle Pfeiffer and Rutger Hauer. A jealous witch curses them so that can spend just a few brief seconds together every day. *sigh* Really makes you cherish the love you have.
- Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club, Sweet 16, pretty much any of those from that genre. They were the coming of age movies of my generation. LOVE them all!
- Zero Dark Thirty. We watched this recently. It was very interesting and eye opening view of the death of Osama Bin Laden. I was mesmerized throughout the whole movie.
- My Name is Khan. This one's kind of our in left field for my choice, but it is a movie that I've seen in the last 5 years that has really stuck with me and made an impact on me. In the light of post 9-11, an Indian man with Asburgers Syndrome deals with racism in the United States.
Well, I hope you learned a little more about me as a person besides the usual work incompetancies, frustrations, pantry stuffings, recipe challenges, etc.

Add carrots and saute 3 minutes. Add potatoes and saute 3 minutes. Combine chicken broth with coconut milk, curry powder, and garam masala. Add to vegetables and bring to a boil. Simmer 10 to 15 minutes or until the potatoes and carrots are almost fork tender.

Enjoy!
