You panic. It's not in your game plan to whip up another pie shell for your apple pie. You're already behind schedule by 20 minutes. That's a HUGE #FAIL in your mind. You freak. You begin to hyperventilate. Cold sweats. WHAT THE $^&%* ARE YOU GONNA DO???
Okay. *slap* CHILL! Apple pie DOES NOT have to be a double crust. I know! It's an amazing concept!! Think of it like an apple crisp in a pie crust. I KNOW, RIGHT?? Tasty. Easy, DELICIOUS! AND it only requires one pie crust, WHICH YOU HAVE!! Yes yes, I know. I have saved your sanity and more importantly, your meal. No, a simple thank you will do.
Streusel topping consists of ingredients found in most pantries; flour, sugar, oatmeal, and some butter from your fridge. Honestly, I don't have butter, but I have margarine, and that would work just fine. I used butter spray for this recipe, just to see how versatile streusel topping is. That worked as well. Was a bit crispier than usual, but tasted yummy.
So, as you can see, no matter what your dilemma, #SundaySupper has you covered! Be it quick and easy appetizers, frostings and toppings, to home made cake mixes, #SundaySupper as got ya covered this week with easy meals, substitutions, and solutions to your Holiday baking and cooking dilemmas.
Enjoy!
