I don't know about you, but I wake up almost every morning with a song in my head. Some weeks it's the same one if I have something just stuck there. Sometimes, it varies day to day depending on my mood.
Lately it's been Titanium, or pretty much anything by Sia. But Titanium started it from Pitch Perfect. Okay. No I do not watch Glee. BUT I do love to sing and think this movie is HIL-arious! I mean, the whole barf fest and the very quiet Asian chick just cracks me up to no end.
Where was I? Sia. Yes. I really liked the song from Pitch Perfect and decided to find out more about the artist. Well, David Guetta did a remix featuring her, but Sia as a performer solo is *swoons* A-mazing. Her voice? Powerful and beautiful! After listening to more of her songs, I think my favorites are You've Changed and We'll Soon Be Found. That last one is just beautiful! Clap Your Hands is good, too.
She has a quirky and funny personality. She's a goofball like me. Her vids are laughable. And she does sign language in some of them because she thinks the motions and language is beautiful telling it's story. I agree to some extent. Having been immersed in the deaf culture for a brief bit, it's not all that beautiful sometimes.
So, for me music is soothing, soul quenching and inspiring! When #SundaySupper chose a music theme, it only took minutes for me to find inspiration for my dish. For me, there's not many songs that truly inspires food more than the Sound of Music. I have many memories of watching, listening, and singing these songs over and over. So, My Favorite Things in the Sound of Music was my first inspiration. But...it really does deserve some kind of ice cream or frozen treat for a summer time strudel.
Yes. I know it's apple strudel, but apples aren't in season right now. What is in season? Peaches! Sweet, juicy peaches. #NOMZ!
Oh yeah. Frozen treat. For some reason, U2s Wild Honey just popped into my head. How can one make honey wild? Well, it truly could be wild honey, but most have fields of flowers to flavor their honey. So, I just figured....add alcohol! While we were at Mom's a few weeks ago, she had me taste a honey bourbon she had. OMG it was fabulous! After tasting that, I knew I had what I needed to make scrumptious honey frozen yogurt. And with adding the honey and the alcohol, it shouldn't be rock hard frozen and you can't scoop it out the next day.
