Bogota Day 3.1 and 3.2

So I found my FAVE Bogota restaurant moved and I'm not sure if they're open.  Agave Azul.  I SERIOUSLY cannot say enough good things about this restaurant.  If you're here.  EAT THERE!  It's required.  My dealer for this scrumptious food is out of town and I'll have to fend for myself on this one.  *pout*

In any event...

Day one was HORRID!  I mean...seriously.  HORRID!  Almost as bad as my first trip here, but without the nausea.  Yeah.  THAT bad.  I landed and felt fine.  I met my counterpart here and was okay.  I had dinner at Agadon across the street.  I had the chipotle burger, which I had before.  No.  No pics.  You will have to sort through my past posts to find it.  Look for February, I think?  Maybe April.  Anyway.  It's always delish.  They have THE BEST fries and excellent burgers!  You can't go wrong there.

Then I felt like, "Hey.  If I'm still on my feet and can make it there, I'm going to the pastry place for some cake."  So, that's just what I did.  Probably not my best decision.  Because.  O.M.G my head was YELLING at me like an Italian New Yorker when I got back.  I told H that I was no good and would be laying down for the night.  That's exactly what I did.  I texted S around 6 and then woke up around 12 and then 4.  Yup.  Slept that long.  10 hours.  Cause my head was a jackhammer.  It's migraine-esque and that crippling if I don't.

You can read about AMS here.  Thanks, Mom!  I love the one where they say descend and symptoms should subside.  Or ascend slowly.  Yeah.  Like those are even options.  So, I tell everyone I'm useless on the first day which is why I take the early flight to acclimate as soon as possible and not have this headache at work.

So, day 2 is the realistic day.  It had a rough start.  With a lengthy conversation with my counterpart that my boss has had with him and I know I had at least once at HQ.  *shrugs*  Maybe it takes a while to figure out?  Lord knows.  It's not a GAP.  GAP?  General Accounting Practice?  Yes.  I have one of THOSE boring jobs.  Anyway.  It doesn't make sense to NOT account for those bills in transit, but we can't.  It's just the way it is.  Deal.  Harsh.  I know.

BUT at the end of the day I had some "aha" moments and was explained some things I didn't know before I came THIS time.  Why in the world it took trip 3 to explain this I have no idea.  We've been asking for this information all along.  Again... *shrugs*

So, my counterpart has one large meal of the day, usually lunch.  I was telling him about all the great restaurants in the area and he decided to join me tonight.  I am trying to do the Ensalada tour of Bogota this time, but I was craving some #MeatlessMonday (actually it's Tuesday) pasta.  Di Lucca!  It's just the street and I KNOW the food is fab.  I had the black pasta last time, remember?

Well, this time it was Pappardelle Al Teléfono; Pappardelle with a tomato and mozzarella cream sauce and basil.  Wow.  TO DIE FOR again.

We had a nice Chilean Syrah, Ninquen, with dinner.  It was nice and mellow.  It went well with my dinner.  The richness of the sauce and the subtle spiciness of the wine really paired well.  The not quite fruity essence, but had some fruit under tones really allowed for the sweetness of the tomatoes and sauce to shine through.

The conversation was awesome.  It was his history, my history, our view points, off the record conversations.  It truly was a good conversation.  I hadn't had one about work in a long time.  It was refreshing and promising.

Finally, we finished with some Fonseco.  Man.  That's good port.  And now I am tired.  And I need to sleep before the day arrives before I expect it.

I HOPE I can get someone to take me to Agave Azul this week.  We'll see.  Supposedly, they're open at their new location.
